- Dieting in Couple: A Challenge?
- By: ANDREA PELIN
Losing weight as a couple is twice as easy! What really matters is how motivated you are. You and your partner generally have the same lifestyle: you go shopping together, spend your free time together, go out, share meals, or do physical activities. If your lifestyle isn`t healthy, it`s normal to gain weight. However, if you gained weight together, lose it together! It`s much easier for both of you to make changes to your lifestyle than for one of you to try it on his or her own.
Although the necessary daily calorie intake is different for men and women, the efforts made to lose weight are quite similar. For both men and women the diet may be the same, but the eating habits are different. For instance, women prefer to take snacks in front of the TV, while men usually eat more than their body requires at mealtimes.
You should know more about the similarities and differences between your and your partner's culinary preferences. Make sure that your partner knows more about your cravings. This way he or she may help you avoid certain foods. When you`re shopping together, ask for the other`s opinion before you put a product in the basket, and try to fill the basket with many fruits and vegetables.
If you`re on a diet, it doesn`t mean you have to give up your favorite foods. You may have fun together by cooking savory meals.
