  • Electronic Medical Records
    By: CHRIS DOMNIC

    EMR Features:

    Electronic Medical Records (EMR):

All data captured through templates, along with images such as photographs, scanned documents, lab results, drawings, and/or typed text or signatures, are stored in the patient record and are easily searchable and reportable.

The electronic patient chart was designed to be highly intuitive and user-friendly. Providers can customize templates and triggers and define treatment protocols, enabling them to conduct visits and practice medicine in ways that coincide with their specialty and personal preferences.

    Appointment Scheduling:

The appointment scheduler is your personal secretary, which takes charge of your appointment tracking, fixing and blocking. Doctors can get a total view of their workday and efficiently manage their working schedule.

This powerful module streamlines your front-office operations with intuitive graphical display. The application prompts users to complete required information and prevents departures from practice-defined scheduling guidelines.

Flexible and easy-to-learn, the Appointment scheduling function can be designed to reflect the work style of your practice and the preferences of individual physicians. Blocks of time can be reserved for certain types of appointments or procedures on specific days of the week, and length-of-appointment parameters can be adjusted to accommodate the time.

In addition, the appointment-scheduling module allows making, rescheduling, or canceling appointments.

    Workflow management:

Each screen is secure, protected by login and password protocols so staff has access only to their own functionalities/navigation and are prevented from viewing non-approved information.

    Patient Demographics:

Registration data drives all aspects of the EMR system. Accurate and timely collection of data is essential to the successful management of a patient's account. Patient Demographic Management is designed to assist in the collection and management of patient demographic and insurance information. The solution captures all necessary demographic and insurance data as well as practice-specific information.

Capture all the patient preliminary details, such as

    "Personal details

    "Insurance Details

    "Social history details

    "Medical history details

    "Family history details

    "Family medical history details

    "Surgical history details

    "Hospitalization details

    "Correspondence details

    "Chief complaint(s) details

    "Drug allergies details

    "Current medication(s) details

    "Discontinued medication(s) details

    Diagnosis & Treatment

The doctor uses the proposed software from the point where the doctor diagnoses the patient and determines the cancer type. The software will be used from then onwards as under:

    "ICD Code Master

    "Diagnosis Process based on ICD

    "Staging

    "Stage Grouping

    "Medicine for Chemotherapy

    "Chemo Order Generation

    "Flow Sheet for Chemo Cycle

Based on all the above inputs the doctor diagnoses the patient and understands the problem. This leads to determining the Cancer Stage.

In case there has been and Clinical Trials information the doctor refers to it including the drug information Charts, Lab Reports, Chemo Order generation, Clinical Trials Info. Based on all this information the doctor writes a prescription and doctor's note and enter the relevant details with the charge capture form.

In case the patient requires Chemotherapy the doctor schedules the next appointment for him with a nurse and the relevant procedures have to be followed.

    E-Prescription

Ensuring that patients receive the correct medication has never been easier or more convenient. Synergy EMR provides an ePrescription that allows physicians to order, record, and transmit a prescription directly to the pharmacist/nurse, ensuring that no information about dosage, frequency, etc., becomes lost in translation or transport.

With this direct connectivity, pharmacists also are able to respond directly with questions or requests for additional information or refills. As a result, fewer errors are made and patient safety is protected.

Prescription writer gives providers a fast and accurate way to write their prescriptions electronically. Manage a list of commonly used medications and their dosages then fax the completed prescription directly to the pharmacy.

    Spell Checker

The optional Spell-Checker module has been redesigned to support "on-the-fly" spell-checking, and the dictionaries have been expanded to include more English and medical (150,000) words.
