The cancer diagnosis on its own, let alone the myriad of allopathic procedures and tests following one's diagnosis, is enough to send one on a roller-coaster of emotional upheaval.One mistake cancer survivors make is ignoring the mental-emotional state that also needs balancing during the recovery stage.
Many physician now believe that treating an individual's mental and emotional states is as important as treating any cancerous tunnels that maybe a result of such conditions. Preliminary studies of biofeedback, meditation, yoga, guided imaging, and other relaxation techniques suggest the mind can enhance immunity against cancer.
It is crucial to consciously transform negative thoughts and emotions, because they can be extremely toxic to the body's anti-cancer defense system. It is a paramount important for new cancer survivors to work with a Dr. Who can help them discover who they are in the new, higher order of living. However, the Dr. Can only be a guide/coach; the patient is the pilot of his recovery.
In order to continue on the recovery road, one must nurture order and balance on all levels by: 1. Consuming a wholesome diet of natural, unrefined whole foods 2. Providing all the nutrients, co-factors and biological substances, especially trace elements, antioxidants, that are needed to build reserves and encourage repair 3. Maintaining proper levels of exercise 4. Getting adequate amounts of test, relaxation, fun and sleep 5. Using relaxation techniques such as massage, biofeedback 6. Practicing good hygiene: respecting ....... rhythms of sleep and awake, .... time, etc. 7. practicing proper breathing ( consciously inhaling and exhaling in times of distress) 8. Spending time with family and friends 9. Expressing feelings and emotions. 10. Undertaking creative projects
On the level of psychological and emotional functioning, the continuing presence of certain factors ( obstacles to growth and self-expression) can lead to a loss of: hope or vision of a positive future, faith in oneself or a higher power , purpose or a sense of personal meaning, control or the feeling of having choices and influence in one's life, enthusiasm and a sense of being part of a greater plan.
