    Hair has an extraordinary and inexplicable psychological importance. Hair can be used to express cultural, sexual, and religious individuality. Disorders of hair growth that compromise individual expression may affect self-esteem, social functioning, and quality of life There are many disorder releted with hair include alopecia areata, hair loss, male pattern baldness, head lice ,hirsutism, seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff)and cradle cap. Alopecia areata is characterized by round patches of complete baldness. A specific cause of alopecia areata is unknown. A family history and autoimmune diseases is associated with alopecia areata.

    The primary symptom of alopecia areata is roundish patches of hair loss on the head, with smooth, hairless scalp in the affected areas. Alopecia areata chances in both sexes and at all ages but is most vulgar in children and young adults. Male-pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia) is the most prominent type of hair disorder affecting, to varying degrees, half of all men over 50 years of age. It usually follows a typical pattern of receding hairline and hair thinning on the crown, and is caused by hormones and genetic predisposition. Dandruff is the most prominent type of hair disorder and also known as seborrhoeic dermatitis.

    Dandruff is characterised by excess shedding of scales from the skin of the scalp. This is very common and is usually caused by the presence of a small round microbe of the yeast family called Pityrosporum Ovale giving rise to the medical term for dandruff pityriasis capitis. Dandruff has also been linked to neurologic disorders such as Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. Head lice (Pediculus capitis) is also type of hair disorder. Head lice are small parasitic insects exquisitely adapted to living mainly on the scalp and neck hairs of their human host. It has been estimated that up to one in every 10 children in school acquires head lice at some time.

    All this hair disorders are treated only drugs, well-balanced diet and nutrition. Alopecia areata can be treated with corticosteroids. Male-pattern and female-pattern baldness can sometimes be treated effectively with drugs.Minoxidil (Rogaine) and Tretinoin (Retin-A) drugs , for hair regrowth and possibly to prevent further loss. The most important step in treating head lice is to treat the person and other family members with medicine to kill the lice. Dandruff" recommends shampooing on a daily basis. Dandruf supplements and herbs can be beneficial when controlling dandruff and its symptoms.
