    Babydoll

A babydoll is a short nightgown or negligee intended as nightwear usually with matching panties. Babydolls are often trimmed with lace, ruffles, bows and ribbons, optionally with spaghetti straps. Sometimes it is made of sheer or translucent fabric like nylon or chiffon or silk. The term Baby Doll came about from the 1956 movie of that name starring Carroll Baker (best actress nominee). The film opens with Baker lying on her crib (bed) wearing what is now called a Baby Doll. Although somewhat tame by contemporary standards, it was very risqué for the time. In fact, the movie was widely condemned by the Catholic Church.

    Bodystocking

A bodystocking is an article of lingerie, similar to a leotard or a catsuit.

    Bra

In 1913, a New York socialite named Mary Phelps Jacob changed women's fashion forever when she cobbled the first brassiere together by tying two handkerchiefs together with ribbon. Jacob's original intention was to cover the whalebone sticking out of her corset, which was visible through her sheer dress. Jacob began making brassieres for her family and friends, and word of mouth soon spread about the garment. By 1914, Jacob had a patent for her design and was marketing it throughout the United States. Although women had worn brassiere-like garments years past, Jacob's was the first to be successfully marketed and widely adopted.

    Corset

Corsets are women's lingerie that are boned and close fitting. The most common use of a corset is to slim the body and make it conform to a fashionable silhouette. For women this most frequently emphasizes a curvy figure, by reducing the waist, and thereby exaggerating the bust and hips. Corsets begin either above or just below the bust and extends down to the waist or below the hips. corsets are fitted with four or more adjustable garter straps to support the stockings of your choice.

    Hosiery

Hosiery or stockings are close-fitting, elastic garments that cover the feet and legs. Hosiery comes in various styles including silk, nylon, and fishnet. Stockings are the traditional style that are put on individually and attached at the top to a garter for support. These can come in plain top, satin top, or lace top.

    Panties

Women's panties have their origins in the 1920's when bloomers (long underwear) became shorter and looser as the flapper look came into fashion. The panties of this time were called step-ins.

    Thong

A thong or G String is a panty with a narrow strip of fabric in the back that begins as a "v" shape at the waistband and then tapers to a thin strip by the time it reaches the crotch. This style panty is great if you want no visible panty lines and a smooth appearance.
