Conventional medicine does not believe that colonics adds to your general well being. They state that it should only be used for certain medical reasons such as severe constipation and colonoscopy procedures.
Those who believe in colon irrigation state that it is the best form of colon cleansing treatment available. Colonic cleaning removes the accumulated waste in your colon. This waste build up causes: constipation, toxins to absorbed into the body through the colon walls and allows bacteria to grow. Cleaning your colon will improve your colon to perform better and you will experience regular bowel movements with no more constipation. There is no more bloating, gas or fatigue. Procedure
A high colonic is usually done in colonics spa or clinic. Various types of colonic hydrotherapy machines and equipment are used. However, the procedure is standard.
The colon therapist puts a speculum into your rectum. It is connected to a long plastic hose which is connected to the colon hydrotherapy machine. Water is released gently into the colon. This causes the colon to contract. The contraction causes the feces to be pushed out through the hose into waste disposable equipment. You do not smell or see the feces. Sometimes you may fell some discomfort. The therapist will message your abdomen to relieve the pressure. The therapy usually lasts about an hour.
Colon hydrotherapist are not regulated. You should consult the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy for a referral.
The procedure is costly and you should compare. Use clinics that have been recommended by friends.
Is a Colonic for Everyone?
No. You should consult a physician before attempting such evasive procedures.
