I had a gal ask me recently - “why does it matter, what you use at home, when there are so many poisons everywhere you go? After all you can never avoid ALL of them.” I nodded and said you are right! AND answered your very own question.

You see there are so many things you have no control over, the pollution you come into contact with from vehicles, or the cleaners that businesses use, pesticides at your neighbors or the neighborhood park, even the chlorine in the local pool. BUT you do have full choice and control over what happens in your own home, the place you come to rest, relax, heal, recharge, get away and spend time with loved ones – and that includes your pets.

So it just makes sense that you never are adding toxins, poisons, carcinogens, chemicals into your body and environment. Trust me I know that it can be hard to know what to buy and what to avoid. I shop with companies I know and trust and only for brands that are about wellness. Not a pretend single line of products but an actual commitment in everything they do.

    Here is a site - http://www.unsafehome.com/a_z/

It can give you a lot of well researched advice about what is in what, and why that is a concern! I will end with some examples.

    Bleach:

There has been a call from the U.S. Canadian Commission to ban bleach in North America. Bleach is being linked to the rising rates of breast cancer in women, reproductive problems in men and learning and behavioral problems in children.

    Misleading Labels:

The New York Poison Control Center reports that 85% of product warning labels were either inadequate or incorrect for identifying a poison, and for first aid instructions.

    Crest Tarter Control Toothpaste:

Saccharin: Carcinogen, contains Phenol Fluoride: Carcinogen. If you accidentally swallow more than a pea-sized amount of this, you must contact the Poison Control Center immediately. This warning does not appear on the tube.

    Cascade:

Sodium Hypochlorite: Corrosive. Sodium Silicate: Can be corrosive. Can cause burns to the eyes and tissue damage to the skin, as well as cause burns to the mouth, throat, and stomach if swallowed.

Check out the site, you may be surprised at what some of the labels you have at home contain – phenol, ethanol, ammonia and more.

Here is to the day when every home is a Toxin Free Home!!

    thank for being here!
