  • Boosting Your Immunity Naturally
    By: R. FREDRICKSEN

Our immunity is critical to keeping us healthy and strong when it comes to fighting off viruses, infections and even allergies. So how can we improve our immunity naturally?

    1. Increase diet of probiotic-rich foods. Ancient civilizations thrived on these types of medicinal foods, knowing they are full of health building nutrients and that they encourage the growth of beneficial, life-giving organisms throughout the digestive tract. But in America, it seems we've lost this valuable knowledge. The current state of our nation's health shows just how poor our diets really are.

The foods abundantly available to us today are highly processed, de-natured, and full of hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, chemical flavorings, artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated oils. The products we use on our bodies and to clean our homes bombard our immune systems with synthetic agents and toxic chemicals; not to mention the fact that the water we drink and cook with is just as compromised. These daily assaults, both from internal and external sources, disrupt our internal physiology resulting in hormone imbalances, digestive disorders, dehydration, dysbiosis, depletion of essential vitamins and minerals, impaired detoxification pathways, pathogen over-growth, erratic blood sugar balance, cardiovascular complications, impaired immunity, depleted fatty acid balance, and so much more. This inner breakdown produces symptoms to warn us that nutritional deficiencies are present. Once we are depleted of certain nutrients, our body no longer has the "tools" or "building blocks" it needs to function optimally. If we ignore these signals/symptoms for too long without correcting the underlying nutritional deficiencies through changes in diet, lifestyle, and limiting beliefs, our bodies cascade into disease.

    2. Limit your intake of refined carbohydrates and sugars to promote better blood sugar handling and endocrine balance.

    3. Properly hydrate your body.

    4. Balance vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

    5. Support your body's pathways of detoxification (infrared sauna, ionic foot baths, clay baths & more)

    6. Improve your indoor air and drinking water quality.

    7. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight damaging molecules call 'free radicals'. It is depleted when you are stressed, so increase you intake of fresh vegetables and fruits. Vitamin E, another antioxidant, is found in seeds and nuts.

    8. Find the time to relax, so you can recover from stress before you are bombarded with any more, is essential. Relaxation and exercise will give your mind and body time to recuperate.

    9. Keep up your garlic. Garlic was first fed to the Egyptian slaves to give them strength to build the pyramids - it seems there is nothing garlic can't do. There is contention that one of its real strengths comes in its pungent flavor, a key to clearing up congestion

Mastering these changes will take time, but you'll be surprised at how easy it will be to incorporate these simple concepts into your busy lifestyle, while witnessing the incredible benefits that come.
