The skin and muscles of the anterior abdominal wall are stretched during pregnancy or excessive weight gain. In some people this leaves loose skin and fat which can cause difficulty with clothing and performing sporting activities. The operation is performed through a horizontal incision which is placed very low within the bikini area.
