  • Dental Insurance Plan vs Dental Discount Plan
    By: RAM KRISHNA

At present 70% of the US citizens do not have dental programs. With Baby Boomers reaching retirement the need to have an inexpensive dental care is absolutely high. Many dental insurance plans available are, provided by dental insurance corporations.

But many missing pieces do exist. They do not provide coverage for any condition that is considered to be "pre-existing". This means that if people are in need of immediate care from a dentist and your plan is to buy insurance in order to pay for your visit, then you're in for a rude awakening because they won't pay for it. People are limited on your amount of annual coverage. This is another big shock, that consumers run into with insurance of this kind. Most have annual coverage limits, usually in the range of $2,500. This means that if you own a policy and your costs for the year exceed this amount that you'll be paying the extra costs out of your own pocket.

Orthodontic dental is a totally separate policy that must be purchased and it has annual maximum coverage (as stated above) and only covers a maximum of 50% of costs incurred. This means that if your child's braces cost $2,000 then you'll only receive half that or $1,000 in coverage. You'll have to pay the rest yourself.

There are other options that people are not aware of, which are highly recommended by many agents over tradition dental insurance plans. These options are called discount dental plans. Discount Dental Plans, also known as dental discount plans, discount plans or dental discount cards, are an alternate method of buying insurance.

One of the best discount dental plans provider is ‘AmeriPlan’ which has no paper work, no limits on services, all ongoing problems are acceptable, no age limit, immediate savings, orthodontics included, cosmetic dentistry included, all specialists included. It brings the consumers straight to the dentist or doctor. Now every one in America can afford to take care of their family's dental care, for less than $20.00.
