  • Fight Arthritis Pain with Tart Cherries and Glucosamine
    By: RUSS ANDERSON

Joint pain can be one of most painful aliments an individual can suffer. Not only can arthritis cause inflammation in the joints it can also restrict joint movement and affect the overall enjoyment of life by restricting mobility.

Osteoarthritis is when the joint has been affected by cartilage degeneration. The cartilage between the joints has dissolved and when this happens the bones begin rub against each other and cause pain. Until recently many have sort ways to treat this pain with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAD'S) including aspirin or other over the counter medication. Unfortunately, these OTC solutions only relieve the pain and allows the symptoms (degenerating cartilage) to continue to get worse. Some osteoarthritis suffers have even turned to joint replacement surgery.

A New Way Fight the Pain and Build Cartilage

During my research for this article I came across one of the best combination of natural ingredients that not only fights joint pain but also rebuilds cartilage and lubricates joints. This new and patent-pending approach is a combination of tart cherries, glucosamine and chondroitin. These are ingredient we already consume or are naturally produced in the body. However, the combination of these ingredients into an all natural dietary supplement is a complete new and effective approach to fighting osteoarthritis. In addition, all three of these ingredients have extensive research and studies results that indicate they work.

Here is How Tart Cherries, Glucosamine and Chondriotin Work

First the tart cherry is a potent and natural source of a whole host of antioxidants including anthocyanins, flavonoids, vitamin A, C and E. According to medical researchers at Michigan State University, anthocyanins have the ability to relieve inflammation in the body, joints and tissues.

In published research results conducted by researchers at Michigan State University, tart cherries contain natural COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitors. In addition, the anthocyanins naturally found in tart cherries are at least 10 times more effective than common non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAD's) including aspirin. Anthocyanins help to neutralize swelling in body tissue and help to restore damages tissues. When a part of the body becomes inflamed connective tissues begin to swell, separate and tear. As the capillaries break and burst, blood begins to spill over into the surrounding tissues and area. To prevent further damage, anthocyanins rush to the screen and begin to fight any destructive enzymes present. In addition, the tiny anthocyanins help to restore the damaged tissues to its original state.

Secondly, glusocamine is a vital building block of water and for joints to be healthy and flexible they need adequate water amounts. Joints need three things to keep healthy: water, proteoglycans and collagen. Water is required for lubrication, proteoglycans holds the water and provide nourishment to the collagen and collagen helps to hold the proteoglycans in place. If the joint is damaged, the collagen may not be able to get water and can lose nourishment, thus becoming more susceptible to wearing out. Medical research has shown that glucosamine can repair damaged or eroded cartilage.

Finally, chondroitin is the magnet that attracts fluids into the proteoglyans. This ingredient is vital to keeping the cartilage lubricated and healthy. Since joint cartilage does not have a blood supply and fluid only enters the cartilage by pressure being applied and released from the joint, chondroitin is vital to keeping the proteoglyans flush with water.

One all natural solution combines 1500 mg of glucosamine, 1200 mg of chondroitin and 425 mg of tart cherry. The name of this all natural supplement is Fruit Advantage Cherry Prime. These individual ingredient amounts contained in Cherry Prime are vital since the consensus of the studies conducted on glucosamine and chondroitin used these amounts during double-blind placebo studies. The results indicated these ingredients may lessen the pain from osteoarthritis. In addition, studies conducted on tart cherries indicate that tart cherries may help reduce inflammation in the body. The 425 mg of tart cherry in Cherry Prime is equivalent to 5 glasses of cherry juice.

So for an all natural solution for joint pain consider the combination of the tart cherries, glucosamine and chondroitin.
