  • How Can You Calculate Your Healthy Weight?

    Being healthy is not only a matter of disease prevention it is also a matter of weight. In order for your body to function properly it needs to be within a certain weight norm. There are a few factors that determine what your body weight should be - height, bone structure, age, and lifestyle.

    There are various charts that you can look at and figure out what weight you need to be according to your height. The taller you are, the more your weight can vary from your ideal (and you will still remain healthy). For example, if you are 5 feet tall your ideal weight is 120 pounds, but you can be anywhere between 103 and 137 and remain healthy (this is for females). But if you are 6 feet tall, your ideal weight will be 159 pounds, and if you are between 138 and 179 pounds you are considered healthy.

    Under and overweight people have many health problems. This is why you need to work on your weight to prevent them. There are some health problems that we have no control over. If a health problem can be prevented then you should do whatever is necessary to prevent it. People who are underweight may suffer from low blood pressure. This means that it is common for them to faint in hot weather. Fainting is never healthy. Overweight people suffer from high blood pressure which is really bad for the heart - it makes the heart work a lot harder and it wears it out faster. You don't want to be stuck with a pacemaker at an early age.
