- By:Jordan Heften
The fact is, that due to new advancements in dental restoration techniques there is no better time then today to have your smile refurbished to the original condition that it was once in. Restorative dentistry simply refers to the processes and techniques that are incorporated to bring back or return a persons teeth to the state that they were in prior to being damaged or degraded.
One area that has brought hope to people with missing teeth is advancements in dental implants that have made it possible to install permanent false teeth that function just like the original teeth that went missing. However; dental implants aren't always the answer for everyone. This is because if there has been advanced degradation of the jaw bone itself, installing dental implants can be a problem.
The first step in the dental implant process is to install a post in the jaw bone. Then time is required for the area to heal and the bone in the jaw to grow around the post and anchor it in. after the healing process is completed, a tooth is then constructed and attached to the post in much the same way as a crown is attached in the mouth.
As dental procedures go dental implants can be rather expensive but for someone that is stuck with a permanent vacancy in the center of their smile that can afford the procedure, they are the perfect solution.
On the less expensive side, tooth color issues are some of the most simple and affordable restorative problems that you dentist can repair for you. Teeth whitening or bleaching procedures take only one dentist visit many times and they can bring your smile back the whiteness that it had before it was degraded.
