WINTER HAVEN, FL (July 1, 2008) – The Center for Retina and Macular Disease will host the 2008 Florida Retina Symposium Sept. 26-28 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.

Optometrists from around the country are invited to attend this professional development event designed to address the important role optometrists can play in identifying and managing retinal diseases.

“We realize the importance of educating optometrists in this area,” said Dr. David Misch, who founded The Center for Retina and Macular Disease. “Last year, we hosted the first Florida Retina Symposium and it was a resounding success, so we plan to present this opportunity annually.”

The symposium features nationally renowned speakers who will present cutting-edge educational information on retinal disease diagnoses and treatments, Misch said.

The site of the symposium is the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, which opened in October 2004. It hosts luxury amenities and modern conveniences, and is home to the world-renowned David Leadbetter Golf Academy. A clinic at the Leadbetter Golf Academy is just one highlight scheduled during this three-day meeting.

A limited number of sponsor opportunities are available for this event. For sponsor information, call: (863) 683-3905.

Online registration and additional symposium information is available at: www.retinasymposium.com.
