- What's Your Anti
- By: SAMANTHA JACKSON
Anti-aging face care is something that really should begin at about age fifteen - just about the same time most of us start spending every nice summer day at the beach. It's also about the age when we begin to slather on pore clogging make up on a daily basis. If we started thinking about keeping our skin young at that age, imagine how we'dd look in our advanced years.Unfortunately, most of us only start thinking seriously about keeping our skin young once it's already started to look older. At that point, there really are two different anti-aging face care styles.
The first style is the inside-out style of face care. This is when you are looking at the way the skin grows and renews itself and you taking precautions to make sure the skin is nourished and protected. You could call it the biology fans school of skin care, because it is based on scientific fact about your body.
This style of anti-aging face care takes into account that the skin is one way the body rids itself of toxins, out through the sweat. The less toxins you take in, the less stress on your skin. So, it follows that avoiding things like cigarettes and alcohol and other toxins keeps you looking younger.
The skin is nourished by vitamins, so taking in enough nutrients can help your skin look and feel young. Proponents of the inside-out theory take extra vitamins to feed their skin, and they drink a lot of water, because the skin needs to stay hydrated to remain healthy.
The second style of face care is the outside-in school of thought. This is based on the idea that feeding the skin emollients, lotions and oils can cause the skin to regain elasticity and reduce wrinkles.
This theory has some science behinds it as well, specifically chemistry, with all the new research in anti-aging creams. Proponents of this school of thought use everything from dead sea mud to pure geranium oil in concoctions to soothe the skin.
They often use a ritual, morning and night, to cleanse, tone, moisturize and nourish the skin. This ritual often involves as many as six different skin care products, including special lotions for eye lids and lips.
Personally, the older I get the more I strive for a balanced life. When it comes to skin care for my face I believe a little of both theories is the most beneficial, so I'm an outside-in, inside-out believer. I eat well, drink a lot of water, take my vitamins and use a really good all natural moisturizer every day. I use the best wrinkle cream I've been able to find and my skin is looking younger every day! Samantha Jackson has been researching wrinkle cream products for years.
