    In this article we are going to take a quick look at a question MANY dieters should be asking before starting a new program. In this case, we will be looking at the Medifast diet. (my preferred program of choice) "Is Medifast good for you...or is it dangerous?" seems to be a question many readers ask, so let's take a look and see if we can't put your mind to rest, and you BODY in action in no time flat!     Medifast is a VERY simple diet to understand. There are NO complex algorithms or exotic philosophies here. Simply stated, you are consuming the EXACT recommended quantities of fat, protein and carbohydrates utilizing the benefits of pre-packaged meals, shakes, bars...and ONE prepared "lean and green" meal per day. The Medifast diet stresses low carb and high protein, and this is unquestionably one of the BIG benefits to losing weight quickly, safely and easily. But it is NOT similar to Atkins, or some other more controversial plans that are SO highly focussed in one food group to the exclusion of others that it becomes risky.

    If you are OVER 65, you may want to consult your doctor BEFORE beginning any weight loss program, including Medifast. If you have an aversion to tasty shakes, and bars...you may want to find ANOTHER diet program as well. Remember, while they taste GREAT...they are NOT candy..:-) So you can't simply stuff them down all day and think you are going to lose weight. (although they taste so GOOD I often wish we could!)
