  • Who makes Levitra?
    By: MICHAEL THOMAS

Bayer is responsible for developing Levitra and it is also the manufacturer of the drug. Bayer registered the "Levitra" trademark, owns the Levitra.com domain, etc. The orange and yellow pill which is Levitra has the Bayer cross trademark on it.

Bayer joined with GlaxoSmithKline to market the drug jointly because GlaxoSmithKline has a better marketing infrastructure for prescription drugs. The two companies describe the relationship this way: Levitra is "co-developed and co-promoted by Bayer and GlaxoSmithKline”.

Bayer, the manufacturers of Levitra, originated as a German pharmaceutical company in 1863. Today the main headquarters for Bayer is still in Germany but Bayer holds the title as being the third largest pharmaceutical company in the world. In the earliest days Bayer was known for its aspirin but lost its trademark status for it in the United States during World War I.

However, in 1994 Bayer bought Sterling Winthrop's over the counter medicine business from SmithKline Beecham and merged it with Miles Laboratories. This gave Bayer back the US trademark rights back as well as the corporate logo. Learn more about Levitra frequently asked questions….

Bayer is responsible for many cutting edge drugs that have made such a wonderful contribution to the pharmaceutical industry such as aspirin, heroin, mustard gas, which is a blister causing chemical weapon, Tabun, which is a nerve agent, Ciprofloxacin, which is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections as well as Anthrax, and Levitra. Bayer is also a chemical company, not just a pharmaceutical company and has broken their company own into six different categories, healthcare, crop science, material science, business services, technology services, and Currenta, which used to be Bayer Industry services.

It is said that Levitra has been known to result in an erection in as little as ten minutes but not longer than 25 minutes which would make it the fastest working PDE5 inhibitor on the market. Bayer has been known for excellence and quality for almost a century and a half now bringing so much good to the world in the terms of pharmaceutical drugs. Bayer’s introduction of Levitra was another contribution to aid in helping those that suffer from erectile dysfunction and allowing them to return to intimacy and normalcy.

Bayer's marketing team is trying to fill a tall order by taking the top erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra and moving it out of the forefront making room in that spot for Levitra. The plan is to pursue diligence by targeting markets in a way that have never been seen before. By using vehicles such as Nascar events, national concert tours, sponsoring major league baseball teams, this is all part of the marketing plan by Bayer and GlaxoSmithKline to bring Levitra to the top.
