- Heartburn: The HIDDEN Cause Of Heartburn You Have NOT Been
- By: DR. CHRISTINE KACZM
You're about to be amazed by what's really been causing your heartburn.Let me start by asking you, what's "The Purple Pill"?
If you said "Nexium", or thought "heartburn relief"- without needing time to think- you're like millions of Americans who have been targeted by the BILLION dollar antacid industry.
But guess what? Antacids do NOT resolve the real cause of heartburn- and even worse, they can cause health complications, including:
·Constipation
·Prolonged healing time
·Gallstones
·Mineral deficienciesSo then, why are antacids the third most common over-the-counter medication purchased at your corner pharmacy?
The answer is, antacid commercials and advertisements can be very misleading. The pharmaceutical industry banks on you not knowing the real physiological causes of heartburn. If so, you would not buy their product. Unfair to you? You bet.
You deserve the truth. I'm going to reveal what's really going on with your heartburn, and how you can find natural relief now. I'll also tell you how to learn the 5 mistakes you're making every time you eat, that make all digestive symptoms worse.
"WHAT HEARTBURN IS NOT!"
You've probably been told that you have heartburn because you're making too much acid.
True? Absolutely NOT. It is physiologically impossible to make too much acid.
You've also probably been told that acid remains in your stomach at all times. This is also false.
HCl, short for Hydrochloric Acid, is needed by your stomach to help you digest food. But HCl is only present in your stomach during a designated period after you eat. Acid is NOT in your stomach all of the time.
Here's a quick explanation of what happens, that your doctor has probably not told you:
The deposit of HCl into your stomach begins with your hypothalamus. Your hypothalamus is one of the most important glands in your body. It monitors what your body needs more of, and less of, in order to function correctly.
When you eat, your hypothalamus knows that food is entering your stomach, and that your stomach will need HCl to help digest your food. Your hypothalamus reacts, signaling your blood to deposit hydrogen and chloride ions into your stomach. Those ions come together to make HCl.
Remember we said that HCl is NOT in your stomach at all times? The reason is, once your stomach has the proper amount of HCl needed to digest your food, your hypothalamus signals your blood to STOP the transfer of any more hydrogen or chloride ions. No more HCl is created.
As you can see, it's impossible for your stomach to have "too much acid". Too much acid is NOT the cause of your heartburn!
"SO THEN . . . WHAT IS CAUSING MY HEARTBURN?"
You've heard that HCl is very acidic- acidic enough to burn a hole right through the floor! Because of this fact, your stomach and esophagus are surrounded by a protective musocal layer.
Believe it or not, it's possible for your mucosal layer to become weakened, thinned, or to develop tiny holes. If this happens, acid seeps right through the lining. THIS is what causes heartburn!
"WHAT CAUSES THESE HOLES?"
In a nutshell, STRESS. The 3 types of stress are:
1. Physical stress, such as an accident or muscle strain
2. Emotional stress, such as an argument or depression
3. Chemical stress, such as fried foods or cigarettes
What does stress do? No matter which of the above types of stress you're experiencing, your body weakens in a specific "pecking order." The first to be effected are your adrenal glands . . . the mucosal lining of your stomach and esophagus are SECOND! The stage is now set to develop a weakened lining and heartburn.
"ANTACIDS, GALLSTONES AND CONSTIPATION!"
Antacids shut down HCl production, and this can have serious consequences.
You see, HCl is a necessary part of digestion, because it does 2 main things:
1.It allows for the production of pepsin, so that your body can digest the proteins you consume. Protein is THE food ingredient that your body needs for homeostasis, growth and healing. You can eat all of the protein you want, but if you lack the pepsin needed to break the protein into small molecules, your body will not be able to utilize it.
2.It allows you to absorb the minerals from your food. One of the most important minerals you need to absorb is sodium, because sodium is required to make bile. Without sodium, your bile will be too thick. Constipation and gallstones can result.
In the end, people who take antacids can soon find themselves with new problems- and still have heartburn. No wonder the pharmaceutical industry does not want you to know this!
"HOW CAN I GET BETTER?"
The most effective way to resolve your heartburn once and for all is to fix the holes and restore the thickness of your mucosal lining. This is achieved by replenishing your lining with the proper nutrients, in the correct amounts.
