  • The Right Fitness Centers
    By: TRIXIE AVALON

Different fitness centers offer a variety of equipment and facilities for its members or clients: classes, weight rooms, locker rooms, and availability of qualified trainers. The difference lies in the level of privacy it has, the extent of opulence, clientele, and staff service. Before choosing and signing up for a membership, consider all the necessary requirements, budget, and the following features of a fitness center which will affect your fitness routine.

Levels of privacy in a gym

Public Gym: This is a type of fitness gym offering the general public its equipment and services. They run in a pay-as-you-go basis, day-by-day, per activity, or reasonable rates depending on the period of your membership. The public type offers different programs for both adults and kids (e.g. gym and dance classes, summer camp, outdoor programs). However, you should consider the limited amount of equipment and attendants available in public fitness centers.

Private Gym: Private fitness centers or health clubs have become a profit-making business over time. In most fitness-demanding communities and states, private gyms and health clubs are competitive with each other depending on the level of equipment availability and the customized services they offer to their clients. A private gym can be independent or a franchise belonging to a local, national, or regional gym chain. They offer diverse services for those who are willing to pay more, such as classes from weight-training to yoga, on-site retail shops, massage and physical therapists, and even their own restaurants offering gourmet healthy meals.

Very Private Gym: This refers to a new generation of “miniclubs” which offer purely institutionalized and customized one-on-one trainings. Aside from the personal focus on your fitness needs by a professional trainer, very private fitness centers offer the luxury of almost having your own fitness center. With the increased privacy offered by very private gyms, celebrities, shy people, and those seeking for personal physical treatment can resort to memberships to this type of fitness center which is very costly.

Specialized Gym: As the term implies, specialized gyms or fitness centers offer a variety of fitness activities focusing on one specific discipline (e.g. yoga, martial arts, boxing). Specialized Gyms can afford to have quality equipments, facilities, and instructors by focusing on one specific fitness discipline.

Staff Fitness trainers and staff are not only knowledgeable on the different workouts which will provide maximum results depending on your needs, they are also equipped with people skills to encourage and motivate you to stick to your fitness goals and program to achieve your desired results. Fitness centers place equal importance in having well-trained, informed, and concerned fitness experts who are able to guide their clients throughout the fitness program. Consider trusting your health and well-being to a fitness center equipped with able fitness trainers- those who specialize and hold a degree in exercise physiology or other health related sciences. Learn more about fitness centers and their staff to know how well you can trust them with your fitness needs. Avoid considering an able fitness trainer just because of his or her built, ask the fitness center management and get all the facts before signing up for membership.

Clientele Clientele is important in choosing the right fitness centers for you because you have your own preference on the people who see and workout with. Some who are just beginning with being fit may feel insecurities and opt for a more quiet and subtle crowd. For those seeking for more push and needs to feel competitive to be able to reach a fitness goal, a fitness center which offers that kind of environment with packed space will work well.
