  • Belmont Law Enters People's Homes to Curb Smoking!
    By: SANDY TONSING

The only effective and convenient measure of putting a hold on the addiction of smoking seems to be the bans. In the developed countries where the rate of smoking is very high, the government has done its bit by implementing strict in-house and external bans. In a number of places, bans have been implemented in external areas like parking lots and play grounds apart from hospitals, restaurants, pubs, bars etc. These initiatives of banning smoking in the public places are primarily aimed at saving innocent victims from the lethal effects of second hand smoking. Unfortunately, the battle against smoking is never completely won until and unless these anti smoking measures can do something worthwhile to help people quit smoking. As of now, they are only partially successful in preventing the smokers from smoking in some particular areas for a limited time period.

The bans no doubt have successfully minimized the rate of passive smoking to a great extent but they have not been able to safeguard the family members of the smoker at home or when they are in the company of the smoker. It is sad to know that at times, infants and children also have to bear the ill-effects of tobacco smoking due to the irresponsible and unwarranted behavior of their elders and sometimes even of their parents. Curbing second hand smoking at people's homes is quite a difficult and challenging task as what an individual does inside his or her personal home does not come under the jurisdiction of the law until and unless it is something unlawful. If somehow smoking can be banned inside homes, it can be hoped that people might give up the addiction. But it is not so easily achievable. Watchers cannot be employed inside people's homes to find out whether the inmates are following the rules or not. Altogether, it is observed that people occupying the same house with a smoker never complain to the concerned authorities even when he/she breaches the law.

All these facts notwithstanding, the law of Belmont has gone a step further to take a milestone decision towards the goal of no smoking. The court of Belmont has passed the law to the effect that smoking will be banned in the multi-storey buildings and multiple residences. This measure is also directed towards protecting innocent people from passive smoking. This step would also go a long way in helping smokers cut down on smoking addiction as they would not be able to smoke at home.

When so many restrictions come by, it is actually wise to adopt the quit smoking ways. Pfizer chantix can be handy if one wishes to give up smoking. One can also buy chantix online on prescription. The prescription is important in order to buy chantix or otherwise the concerned person runs the risk of falling prey to chantix side-effects.
