When you first embarked on a plan of action for losing weight, the prospect of losing say, 20 pounds can be intimidating to say the least. The important thing to remember is that you will achieve your weight loss goal. Over time. It is not an instant thing, despite what some of the weight loss or diet pill manufacturers would like you to believe.The key thing to remember here is, you will eventually reach your goal so long as you take consistent daily action. However, there will be days when despite your best efforts, you just can't seem to get motivated to do what it is that you need to do, be it walking, going to the gym or even eating a salad.
Indeed, motivation is probably the most important factor when starting any new plan be at a weight loss plan, or an exercise plan. This is because it is your will and your enthusiasm to reach your particular goal of a healthier lifestyle or create sure them are body that will carry you through the rough spots that you will undoubtedly encounter. With that being said, here are some ideas to help get and keep you motivated:
Give yourself a reward for completing one of the tasks that you have to do regarding t your weight loss plan. For example, once you have gone for your 20 minute walk, reward yourself by doing one of your favorite hobbies. In my case, once I have eaten my salad and had my daily vegetable drink, I will reward myself by playing for15 minutes on my PlayStation 3.
Buy and use a daily diary. In this diary, you can keep track of your progress from the day you start and you can also keep track of milestones that you hit. It is a great motivator to be able to see where you started and how far you have come. You can also use it to keep track of the internal dialogue that you will know on, no doubt be having with yourself as you progress through your particular weight loss goals.
Another thing you can do to keep your motivation up is to allow yourself to eat some of your favorite foods once in a while. You should not completely deprive yourself or cut yourself off from the foods that you love doing so will only make it harder to stick to your plan. If you say once a week, he says some ice cream or some chocolate. You will feel better about your plan, and if you use it as incentive to keep on your plan, you will not feel like you're cheating.
